Currensea allows you to change the phone number linked to your account in the "Details" section of the app. To find this section, tap the icon of your initials in the top left corner of the app. From there, you can edit your phone number, as well as your email address and home address.
If you're not able to edit your phone number in the app, there may be a few reasons why. The following are the most common.
- If the option is greyed out with a padlock icon this means that you haven't registered your device. Registering your device is an additional security measure we've put in place to ensure that the Currensea app is being used by the owner of the linked bank account.
- You've entered the phone number incorrectly. Please double check the number before confirming it.
- You haven't received the SMS containing a One Time Passcode ('OTP') due to the SIM you're using being a data only SIM.
- You haven't received the SMS containing a One Time Passcode ('OTP') due to a spam filter being in place with your network. Please contact them to request they remove this.
- The country you're in might be one that we're not able to send an OTP to, which we need to do in order to verify the new number.
- If the phone number you want to add is already being used by another account in Currensea, you will not be able to change your number to that one. We only allow a phone number to be used with one account at a time for security purposes.
Please also keep the following in mind:
- You can only have one number linked to your Currensea account at one time.
- You must not use anyone else's phone number in your personal details section. This compromises the security of your Currensea card and is breach of our Terms and Conditions.
If you still need help updating the phone number linked to your account, e.g., because you've changed number recently, then please contact our Customer Support team on help@currensea.com. You will be asked some security questions as part of making any change to your personal details.
