Linking to HSBC

Currensea recommends you to link your bank account using your mobile.

 

📱Using a mobile device

You’ll need the HSBC UK mobile app on your phone

Step A

Click on the Go to my bank button to launch your HSBC UK mobile app. 

  • Log in using either your online banking login password or your fingerprint
  • Select the current account you would like to spend from and click Finish
    ⚠️Credit cards and savings accounts cannot be linked ⚠️

You’ll be automatically redirected back to the Currensea website.

Step B

On the Last step screen, click on the Go to my bank to confirm button to launch your HSBC UK mobile app and set up your direct debit. 

  • Log in again using either your online banking login password or your fingerprint
  • Click on Consent to funds availability check

You’ll be redirected back to the Currensea website to choose your PIN.

 

 💻Using a computer

You’ll need your HSBC online banking credentials and your mobile phone or your secure key device

Step A

Click on the Go to my bank button to be redirected to the HSBC secure online banking website.

  • Enter your username (this is what you use to access your HSBC account online)
  • Generate a re-authentication security code
    • Using the HSBC UK Mobile Banking app
      • Select Generate security code on the Log on screen
      • Select the tab that says Re-authenticate
      • Use your details (either password or fingerprint) to generate a 6-digit code
    • Using a Secure Key device
      • Press and hold down the green button to turn the device on
      • Enter your Secure Key PIN
      • When the HSBC welcome screen is displayed press the 3 button to generate a re-authentication code
  • Select the current account you would like to spend from and click Finish
    ⚠️Credit cards and savings accounts cannot be linked ⚠️

You will be automatically directed back to the Currensea website.

Step B

On the Last step screen, click on the Go to my bank to confirm button to be redirected to the HSBC secure online banking website and set up your direct debit. 

  • Repeat the sign in process using your username and re-authentication security code 
  • The account you chose in the previous step will show on the Funds Availability Check page and click Confirm

You’ll be redirected back to the Currensea website to choose your PIN.
